Ice Monster 台北永康街冰馆(梳邦分行)

I spent my dessert time at Ice Monster with friends after the lunch at Taman Kinrara with the chicken rice. This shop was interviewed by "HoChak" show and "One Day Five Meal" show. I believe its dessert is Ichiban since got 2 local famous Makan show recommended.

The shop is not big but was crowded last Monday. Luckily we managed to get place and tried the following dessert that recommended in the order menu:

Picture 1 - Yam + Red Bean Ice
Picture 2 - Mango Ice with Mango Ice cream
Picture 3 - Mixed fruit Ice with Mango Ice cream

My final conclusion is Good, especially Yam + Red Bean Ice...........really Yummy!!! Must try!

Special Bentong Chicken Rice 文冬记滑鸡饭

I was brought by my best to this famous chicken rice in Taman Kinrara after the weekend bowling game in IOI Mall. This chicken rice stall located behind the famous STAR supermarket (corner lot).

Overall, the food quite ok with reasonable price. The meat (picture 1) very soft and boneless but the ordered chicken feet skin (picture 2) and bean sprout (picture 3) very normal.

Please try to avoid the given chilies sauce, quite spicy if you can take spicy!!!

Sakae Sushi

I would say Sakae Sushi is one of the hot Sushi Chain Store in Klang Valley, about 6 outlets and 2 more outlets in Penang. To me, just another Japanese Restaurant selling sushi via kaiten (conveyor belt) concept, similar to Sushi King and Genki Sushi. But the environment is better that the two I mentioned.

On the kaiten, you may find that the sushi served by three colors of plate which represent the pricing like RM1.90 (GreenPlate), RM3.90 (Pink Plate) and RM5.90 (Red Plate). The only special thing that may attract you is the food ordering process. You need to use the mouse to browse the catalog shown on the monitor and add your desire food into shopping cart before confirm the order. Feeling like doing online purchase without payment.

Anyway, i still feel boring with sushi (May be ate too much sushi before until wanna vomit??).

He Kou Wei (合口味)

After had a bubble tea by Yippee Cup, I straight away drove to Niuzexui to try the Soba In Cool Noodle (酱拌冷面).

He Kou Wei offers set lunch (RM5.90 only) and set dinner (RM7.90 only) to its customer. The set including the meal + sauce + topping + a herbal drink. Quite worth it. The only difference between the set lunch and set dinner is the PRICE!!

There 3 types of source for you to choose: Original, Spicy (Recommended by Biz Owner) or Garlic and you also can choose one of the following as the topping:
(a) Turkey Ham floss
(b) Chicken Floss
(c) Crabstick Floss
(d) Mushroom (for vegetarian)
(e) Vege duck (for vegetarian)

My choice was Cool Noodle + Spicy + Turkey Ham Floss (unfortunately chicken floss and crabstick floss were finished that time).

I would say the noodle very special since is cold while you eating it and sauce taste also good. Besides, its herbal drink quite nice as well. Just try it when you are in Niuzexui for shopping.

Yippee Cup Bubble Tea Cafe 台湾正宗珍珠奶茶专门店

We noticed this cafe before entered Restaurant Ho Weng Kee and planned to try it after our brunch. This is the reason why we only ordered one drink during brunch time :P

Actually we feel regret to enter the cafe for bubble tea drink order. Wah.......the drink quite expensive. From the menu shows RM6.00 per cup but will get additional 20% discount if take away. Of course just order one cup with yam flavour and take away! But still need to pay RM5.70 per cup (including government tax 5% and service charge 10%)

Why regret? Of course is expensive and the taste is not good :(

Restaurant Ho Weng Kee 何荣记面家

Yesterday I decided to go out "cari-cari" makan. Our first dining place is Restaurant Ho Weng Kee which is located at SS2 for my brunch (I only waked at 11am :p).

The restaurant was crowded and luckily I managed to find a table when i reached there around 1pm.

Without 2nd thought, quickly called the auntie and ordered a wanton mi with soy sauce pork rib (豉汁排骨面; pic1), a wanton mi with sirloin (五香牛腩面; pic2) and a herbal drink which cost us only RM12.30.

The food we ordered quite nice. The taste is very good and not salty. No wonder so many customers. Another place should go to try. Remember don't come at lunch time, is very hard to find a table!!

Kedai Nasi Ayam Tim Kee Lama 郑记芽菜鸡饭店

Kedai Nasi Ayam Tim Kee Lama is one of my favourite dining place recently. Why?

The reasons are:

1. Near to my house
2. Chicken rice is very nice, included the Hainan chillies sauce and ginger sauce (姜汁).
3. CHEAP, chicken breast with yellow oil rice only sold at RM3.50. ( Is very hard to find this price in other place)

Understand that this restaurant is a branch and the main restaurant is located at Taman Connaught (near to BHP petrol station). It was awarded as Guang Ming's Hainan Chicken Rice King (光明海南鸡饭王) and NTV7's Malaysia Top 10 Chicken Rice King in year 2007. Besides chicken rice, they also sell mixed rice.

Overall, I would say its' chicken rice is the best Hainan chicken rice among those I tried before.

You should try it...

Nippy Noodle Restaurant 竹升面屋

We had no idea what to eat yesterday night. Keep driving until reached Kuchai Lama. I took her for few rounds turning there but still couldn't fine any special food.

Then I decided to bring her try Nippy Noodle Restaurant which I went before. The main selling point of this restaurant is the bamboo noodle (actually is wanton mee ) which is very crunchy (弹牙). In the morning, you can see how they make the noodles.

By the way, the serving size is small and sure not enough for man. Gentlemen, only large size can fill up your stomach.

Introduction:

Bamboo Noodles originated from China during the early 1900's in the province of Guang Zhao, Hong Kong and some part of Asia. Traditional method of making noodles have long been forgotten as modern machines has given way to tranditional methods. Nippy Noodles chose to go back to the heydays. Bamboo Noodles is the old descriptions for Wanton Noodles.

Many important things are taken into consideration in making the noodles. The size of bamboo has to be right in making good noodles, neither too hard nor soft. Traditionally in ancient Chinese Kitchens, it consists of "36 Skills". Making bamboo noodles is one of these skills.

Premium Flour and Omega Eggs is combined to make the noodles perfect without additional of liquid. This gives a good aroma of fresh eggs to the noodles and of course a great flavour. As all these methods and ingredient combine.

"Nippy Noodle" promises products are mad passionately and detailed. As they believe that patrons should be pampered by old school methods and providing new palates with decedance.

Famous Food in OUG Pasar Malam

If you are free on Thursday night, you should go to OUG's Pasar Malam, a place where you can find some yummy food. It also crowded too until hard to walk. You can find many types of food such as Pan Mee, Asam Laksa, Chou Tofu, fried pork, Pearl Milk drink, Fried Kuey Teow, cakes, junk food etc.

Suddenly I noticed that this stall was interviewed by HoChak hosts on his Tokyo Crepes which cost RM4.50 per pc. I just tried another type of cake which only sold at RM2.00 for 6pcs. I chose the cake with red bean to try.

After the try, found that nothing special. May be should try Crepes, not the cheaper cake :P

Restaurant Hill View

This is one of my usual place to have breakfast, especially during weekend. I would say once a week to have breakfast since it is very near to my house and the place is windy as well, will not feel hot there.

This restaurant just like normal Chinese restaurant. You can find mee soup, wantan mee, nasi lemak etc. here but its price considered cheap, only RM3.00 per bowl. You may say since it very normal, so why post it here?

In this post, I would like to share with you about Restaurant Hill View's Prawn Mee (also known as Hokkien Mee in Penang) . The special of this prawn me is the taste which is totally different taste from others' prawn mee. What is the difference? Hard to explain here . When you try, I'm sure you will say quite nice. I believe its ingredients are different from usual prawn me.

I would rate this prawn mee at 7/10.

Cova Cafe, Lounge & Bistro

This time, I tried Cova Cafe located at 1st floor of The Gardens. I was looking quite place to have my lunch with my partner, so we entered this restaurant which was no customer that time, about 12.30 noon (from the photo you already know).

I ordered Miso Clams Soba but the waitress told me no Clams today and the chef will replace it with seafood. Actually I wanted to change to dolly fish fillet but was told "sorry sir, no dolly today". No choice, still stick with my first choice. Then my partner ordered Strawberry and Mascarporne Cheese Parfait.

Strawberry and Mascarporner Cheese Parfait was served first. Actually she wanted to have cheese cake but this dessert seem can't satisfy her. After finish, she immediately ordered Strawberry Cheese Cake but still can't fulfill her cheese hunger. About my Miso Seafood (not Clams) Soba, quite nice. It served with 2 big prawns, 3 big scallops, 2 mussels and some squids which are very fresh. Really worth for value!! I like the seafood and miso soup but don't like Soba taste. I quickly requested red chillies from waitress to cover the soba taste.

Only saw crowd in this cafe after 1pm. Anyway, the only disadvantage I could see from this cafe is its sky juice is chargeable at RM1.00 per glass. They should not do that while others don't.
