Basically, Affogato is a coffee-based beverage or dessert. Affogato style which is refer to the act of topping a drink or dessert with espresso, sometimes may incorporate with caramel or chocolate sauce.

Nice description of affogato. I can suggest you to try affogato not only with espresso, but also with cognac or brandy. It's great...trust me, in Italy we used a lot the affogato, expecially afetre dinner.
